53. Resetting Your Relationship During the Tween/Teen Years

Tess Connolly LCSW talks with Cheri Timko, a Relationship Coach and psychotherapist about what it's like to be in a marriage/partnerships and dealing with the stresses of having tweens and teens.

  • Tess and Cheri talk about how parenting puts different stresses on relationships. 
  • Cheri talks about the conflicts that we might get into when moving through our parenting journey. She talks about the two roles that parents bring to the table when parenting our children: the structure and the support role.
  • Tess and Cheri talk about how we can use these roles to benefit our children and that both roles are needed when raising our children. 
  • Cheri and Tess talk about when there are conflicts between these roles and how we tackle this when parents become entrenched in these roles. 
  • Tess and Cheri talk about the transition in parenting from when they were younger to when they enter their tween and teen phase. 
  • Cheri shares some strategies and tips for our partnerships/marriages to help keep things solid whilst we are on our parenting journey.
